The light beams at Antelope Canyon.

Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend Tour

Situated on protected Navajo land, Antelope Canyon can only be visited on a tour. The Upper Antelope Canyon, known for its famous light beams, is the most popular route. The Lower Antelope Canyon tour is more physically demanding than the Upper Antelope route with a longer hike and several elevation changes, but visitors will be rewarded with otherworldly views in a sandstone labyrinth.

Antelope Canyon X—named after the X formation at the top of the canyon—is lesser-known than the Upper and Lower routes, but still offers similar amazing views. Tours of the Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon also include a visit to Horseshoe Bend, an entrenched meander formed by the Colorado River.

Get up to $20 off Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend tours

AAA TIP: Antelope Canyon is a great year-round destination, but the best time to visit the Upper Antelope Canyon to see the famed light beams is generally May-September, between 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. when you’ll get the most sunlight.
